Smart Predictive Dialers

A Smart Predictive Dialer combines automatic dialing with voice messaging and live agents who are prepared to handle inbound calls. A Smart Predictive dialer adds more power to this important automation tool. Answering machines, busy signals, and unanswered calls are processed in a manner similar to that of a normal predictive dialing system. A Smart Predictive Dialer can detect a “live” answer and play an introductory pre-recorded message, giving the call recipient the option of talking to an agent to complete the transaction.

This message can be a consistent, high quality introduction to the company, products or service, or a greeting that identifies the caller and the nature of the call. Using touchphone keypad responses, the call recipient can choose to

• talk with a service representative;

• leave a voice message;

• request another call back time, or simply express no interest.

This process requires a more complex predictive algorithm to ensure that a phone agent is available when the call recipient asks to speak with a representative.

The benefits of a Smart Predictive Dialer are:

• Call lists are pre-qualified without the need for an agent.

• The probability of a successful call is higher.

• Fewer agents are needed to handle more calls.

• Call lists are processed much more quickly.

• Agents are only talking to interested and qualified callers.

• Call list processing is less expensive.

Smart Predictive Dialers have several disadvantages, such as:

• Call recipient resistance to recorded messages affects the overall list performance.

• Recorded messaging is forbidden in certain U.S. states (unless prior business relationship has been established). This may limit the use of this technique to only certain types of business or consumer campaigns in certain geographical areas.

• Recorded messaging is illegal in the UK without prior permission from the people you are calling.
